Biotrade is beginning construction of a new production, warehousing and administrative complex – a large-scale project that’s part of the company’s long-term plans for development.

The project began with the design phase back in the autumn of 2024, and construction started at the beginning of this year. The building is expected to be ready by the autumn of 2027.

The building will be situated on over 13,000 square metres in Sofia, in a parcel near Vasil Levski Airport, and will combine production and storage areas, an in-house laboratory and administrative offices, bringing all the company’s departments together under one roof.

More than just a production facility

The expansion of the company’s own cosmetics production is an important stage in biotrade’s development, as it involves modernizing equipment and increasing capacity. However, it also lays the foundations for the company’s future development in the pharmaceutical sector by adding pharmaceutical production in accordance with the highest international standards. The new building is a natural extension of our plans for flexible and modern manufacturing, a model that will bring together in one place key activities related to the development, production and sale of our products.

A particularly important part of the project is a larger and better-equipped laboratory for product development, testing and quality control, which complements the scientific expertise that biotrade has established through the years.

The production and storage areas have been planned with the company’s rapidly expanding portfolio and international presence in mind, whilst the administrative section will bring together the teams currently operating from our office building in the Musagenitsa district of Sofia.
